Your friend group should not have to split up over which version of Minecraft they bought. On Living Stone Network, Java and Bedrock players share the survival world, the vanilla world, and the community around them.
The short answer: yes, together
This is usually the first question people ask, so here it is up front. One friend on a gaming PC with Java Edition and another on an Xbox, a tablet, or the Windows version can join the same Living Stone world, stand in the same base, and trade from the same chests. You each use the address that matches your edition, and the network handles the rest.
Crossplay changes a few small things in practice. Inventory handling and interface behavior differ slightly between editions, and a handful of technical farms behave differently on Bedrock. None of that stops the two groups from playing together, and the community is used to answering edition-specific questions in Discord.
Which servers are shared between editions
Most of the network is shared. The modded servers are the exception, because the modpacks themselves are built for Java Edition.
Every crossplay world is reached from Cornerstone Hall once you are on the network, so one address gets you to all of them. Questions about a specific world? Ask in Discord.
Getting connected on either edition

Crossplay is the practical part. The reason people stay is the community behind it. Living Stone Network is a whitelisted Christian Minecraft network with clean chat, a published community covenant, and staff who handle problems rather than ignoring them. The whitelist step exists precisely so the crossplay worlds stay pleasant to be in.

Crossplay Questions
- Can Java and Bedrock players play together?
- Yes. Foundation SMP and Java/Bedrock Citadel are both open to Java and Bedrock players in the same world, so you and your friends can build side by side regardless of which edition you own.
- What address do Bedrock players use?
- Bedrock Edition players connect to br.livingstonemc.com using port 50101. Java Edition players connect to play.livingstonemc.com, which uses the standard port 50100.
- Which Living Stone servers support crossplay?
- Cornerstone Hall, Foundation SMP, Java/Bedrock Citadel, and Artisan Creative are all shared between editions. The modded servers, The Builder's Forge and Sojourner Realms, run Java Edition modpacks on their own addresses and are outside the crossplay setup.
- Can console players join?
- Console editions of Minecraft run Bedrock, so the same address and port apply. Some consoles make adding a custom server harder than others. If the server does not show up for you, ask in the help channel on Discord and someone will walk you through it.
- Do I need Discord to play?
- Yes. The network is whitelisted through Discord for both editions. Join the Discord, connect to the server, and the game will show you a code. Send that code to the Discord bot and you are whitelisted automatically.
- Do Bedrock players get a different set of rules?
- No. One community covenant applies across the whole network. Whether you connect from Java, a phone, or a console, the same conduct expectations and the same staff apply.
